OSERVS 2014 Garden Party held in the beautiful Gardens of Beverly and Emmett Smitherman

The lush backyard of Kitty Henry’s Oakmont home in Starkville was the setting for the third annual Oktibbeha Starkville Emergency Response Volunteer Service (OSERVS) garden party fund raiser. The event was held on June 21.

“We are so pleased to have Kitty help us continue this tradition,” said OSERVS Board Chair Amanda Edwards. “The Garden Party serves as an annual fundraiser for OSERVS and also provides an opportunity to see some of the most beautiful landscaping and pool settings in the area.”

Blooming flowers highlighted the manicured landscape, and table arrangements for the event were provided by The Flower Company. Tables on the lawn provided additional seating for guests, in addition to the pool and cabana seating areas.

Guests were treated to a sumptuous outdoor buffet provided by members of the OSERVS Board of Directors.

Income from the Garden Party allows OSERVS to provide assistance to families who are victims of fire, tornado, or other disaster. The organization also serves military veterans and their families.

Connie Malone, Director of OSERVS, said, “We sincerely appreciate the support that Starkville and the surrounding area have shown OSERVS. The turnout here is indicative of that support and the community’s caring heart.”

For more information or to donate to OSERVS, contact Malone at 384-2200. The OSERVS Office is located at 100 Highway 12.
